Archium

Archium is an epistemological organisation dedicated to preserving truth in the aftermath of the Global Knowledge Crash of 2038, a worldwide collapse in the integrity of information, triggered by deep fakes, misinformation, and a widespread breakdown in trust. Much like the financial crash of 2008 revealed the fragility of global markets, the Knowledge Crash exposed the instability of our epistemic infrastructures. In this design fiction, knowledge is treated as currency. Archium’s work involves the auditing, archiving, and validation of what remains reliable.

The latest edition, Damnatio Memoriae, is a retrospective that investigates the factors leading up to the Knowledge Crash and the turbulent aftermath that followed. Its material form evokes permanence; etched in stone; while its journalistic approach draws on rigorous fact-checking and slow, tactile image reproduction techniques such as handmade cyanotypes.
