Archium is a research-led design fiction exploring the fragility of contemporary information systems through the lens of a speculative future. Set in the aftermath of the fictional Global Knowledge Crash of 2038, the project examines how societies might preserve, verify and reconstruct knowledge following a widespread collapse in trust caused by deepfakes, misinformation and synthetic media.

Drawing parallels with the 2008 financial crisis, the project treats knowledge as a form of currency. Archium operates as an epistemological organisation responsible for auditing, archiving and validating what remains reliable. Through publications, artefacts and visual documentation, it investigates questions of truth, memory and authority in an age of information uncertainty.

Its latest publication, Damnatio Memoriae, is a retrospective account of the events leading to the Knowledge Crash and its aftermath. Combining journalistic research with archival aesthetics, the work uses design fiction as a tool for examining the infrastructures that shape collective knowledge, and what might endure when trust in information begins to fail.
